The Schwinn 820p is a fairly basic treadmill, but Schwinn places emphasis on the quality of their working components and the result is a fitness machine capable of fairly intense workouts and light sports training, as well as weight control programs - its maximum user weight is 275 pounds.

The 820p is equipped with a 2.0 CHP motor for speeds up to 10 MPH and has a walking surface of 20"x54" on a cushioned deck that raises to 15%.

 The Schwinn 820p now has Quick Keys to adjust speed.

Programming includes 5 preset, 3 user-defined, and 2 heart rate workouts, and the preset programs include interval training.

Heart rate is monitored by both pulse grips and telemetric chest strap for optimum exercise intensity and for those with health issues.

Readouts indicate time, speed, distance, incline, calories, heart rate, race track and results mode in an LED display.

The warranty on the Schwinn is not basic, at all.

Coverage is for 30 years on the frame and motor, 2 years on parts and electronics, and 1 year on labor and wear items.

If ordered through the manufacturer, sometimes at discount prices, delivery can be up to $300 but includes in-home delivery with installation.

There are a lot of treadmills in this price bracket, but if you like things simple and reliable, the Schwinn 820p, at around $1400, is worth a look.
