Proform PF1800 Treadmill - Top-Of-The-Fine
The Proform PF1800 treadmill, its official name the ‘Proform 5-Star Interactive Trainer 1800’, is the top-of-the-line for Proform, which generally builds training equipment for the lower-priced market.
Equipped with heart rate control over speed and incline and 8 weeks of iFit®, an interactive technology providing workouts on CD or online, the Profrom PF1800 treadmills are packaged as part of a five-part health and fitness program.
Those searching for upgraded features to the Pro Form 345, 840, or 860 should look closely at the 5-Star Series, which also includes the 1200 and 1500 models.
Proform is a subsidiary of Icon Health and Fitness, Inc., the largest manufacturer of exercise equipment in the world, and, as such, has access to Icon's 200 designers and overseas resources.
It's Heart-ly A Small Matter
The Proform 1800 is equipped with a 3.0 CHP motor with QuickSpeed™ Control and up to 14% power incline. Its deck is a wide 19x55" with ProShox Cushioning™.
This machine is very suitable for sports training and intense running workouts.
The Proform 1800 is packaged as interactive so it sports a 5 Star Interactive Console with a built-in interactive disc player.
The EKG™ Grip Pulse Sensor measures pulse and there are 8 preset workout programs.
Proform is in very competitive territory with the PF1800, and, in review, the machine is thought to rate consideration though it is up against more worthy competitors in that price range.
Notably, warranties on the Proform 5 Star series, including the PF1800, are considerably better than on other Proform models, the treadmill motor is covered for three years, the frame and other parts for two years, and all in-home labor charges for one year.
If heart-rate monitoring or other pricey features are not what you need, you might look at the 5-Star 1200 which sells for less than $1000 and sports many of the same, or slightly scaled-down versions of, the features found on the PF1800.
