Proform Frontrunner Treadmill - Economy Is A Sport Too
The Proform Frontrunner Treadmill is made exclusively for Sam's Club, the Wal-Mart members-only retailer.
Economical, it currently sells for just under $600 but it still has appealing features for the home gym and for general fitness training.
Proform, part of Icon Health and Fitness, Inc. since 1994, is the largest manufacturer of quality treadmills worldwide for training, weight loss, and personal fitness and markets products like Proform Frontrunner treadmills for exclusive brands like Sam's.
A Good Buy, A Best Buy
Pro Form designed The Frontrunner treadmil for economy, but that doesn't mean it skimps on quality features.
Built to accommodate a weight of 300 lb., the Frontrunner uses a 1.75 continuous duty, 2.75 HP motor for speeds up to 10 MPH.
With only an 18 inch wide and 55 inch long belt, it is best for light running and fast walking, but provides a 10% power incline and eight built-in workouts and 2 heart rate controlled programs.
The console displays the speed, time, distance, and calories, and EKG(TM) Grip Pulse Sensors monitor your heart rate, a fan keeps you cool during training.
The Pro Form Front Runner is assembled in the USA from parts made in the USA and China.
If ordered online from Sam's, delivery is to curbside in three to four weeks; you'll have to get it inside and assembled yourself.
The warranty is eight years on the motor, but only 90 days on parts and labor.
TreadmillDoctor, in its review of the Frontrunner, considers it a Best Buy in its class.
