Life Fitness Sport Treadmills - For The Love Of The Sport
Life Fitness Sport treadmills are something new for Life Fitness, a Brunswick company since the 1990's: they're a 'value' model. Life Fitness is known for high quality exercise equipment and its dominant position in the commercial and sports training segment of the market.
And Lifefitness is also known for being pricey, you pay for the name, the Life Fitness t9i, for example, goes for about $6000.
Life Fitness isn't stupid, though. Most treadmill manufacturers today are moving production overseas making competition based on price a potential problem for companies like Life Fitness.
Just to hedge its bets, Life Fitness now produces the Sport in Taiwan.
Be A Sport
The Life Fitness Sport is available in two models, the t35 and the t55 with heart rate control.
Aside from programming features, they share the same engineering and design. Both are equipped with 2.0CHP motors for speeds up to 10MPH and 20x54" multi-ply treadbelts with cushioning that run on 2.6" rollers in the front and 2.0" rollers in the back.
Their decks incline to 10% and support a maximum user weight of 300 lbs. Accessory trays and a reading rack are built in.
The t55 also features wireless heart telemetry and heart rate control over speed and incline, as well as a weight loss workout, custom workouts, and a cool-down mode.
Comparable models in the 'T' line of Life Fitness teadmills are the t3 and t3i, as well as older models like the 5500, and they're well worth considering since, to date, reviewers have remained skeptical of the quality and reliability of the Sport.
Warranties on the Sport, though, cover for lifetime on the frame, 5-years on the motor, 2-years on the parts, and 1-year on labor.
Warranties outside the U.S. may vary, according to Life Fitness, which may be significant, because the company currently describes the Sport as available in selected international locations only.
