Ironman Triad Treadmill - A Mutt From Two Pedigrees
The Ironman Triad treadmill is a new model made exclusively for Costco, the discount retailer, and is part of Keys Fitness' high-end product line.
Ironman Triad treadmills combine some of the best features and quality designs of the two Ironman Series, the T Series and the M Series.
Ironman is made by Keys Fitness Products LP, a relatively young Texas firm specializing in fitness equipment that does not hesitate to slap itself on the back for continuing its production in the USA while others are jumping ship in the Orient.
Ironman treadmills are often cited as Best Buys and are carefully considered by those who are into running and general sports training.
The Triad treadmill has the design of the T Series but its features are shared with the M Series.
Its price is closer to that of the M2, its weight capacity is that of the M5, its motor--3.0CHP, maximum speed (10MPH), Touch Button controls, remote controls, heart rate monitoring and control, and number of preset, customized, and heart rate programs are all like the M6.
Unlike the rest of the M Series which incline to 12%, however, the Triad inclines to only 10%.
The Triad running surface actually exceeds that of the M6 in length at 60", but unlike the M6, which has a conventional frame, the Ironman Triad is, like the T Series treadmills, a fold-away design.
Ironman treadmill models carry a warranty that covers for lifetime on the frame, 10-years on the motor, two-years on parts and one-year on labor, and the Ironman Triad sells for about $1400, occasionally discounted.
The Triad is too new for anyone to have given a detailed review of it, but generally Keys Fitness treadmills are considered competitive in each class, ever-improving, and, in the case of the M6, sometimes judged a" Best Buy".
