Ironman Treadmill - What About Ironwoman?
Ironman treadmill models comprise the high-end product line for Keys Fitness Products LP, which also produces the Alliance, Discovery, Encore, and HealthTrainer brands.
Ironman treadmills are offered in both the T Series, more than enough for general fitness and weight control programs, and the more substantial M Series, good choices, all, for those interested in running and sports training.
For a good look at the best features of both series, consider the new Ironman Triad, made exclusively for Costco, the discount retailer.
The Triad combines the more elegant design features of the T Series with many of the features found in the M2, and M5, the latter often judged a "Best Buy" by those who review treadmills.
Modern Design, Rugged Legacy
The Triad treadmill, at about $1400, has a price closer to that of the M2, its weight capacity is that of the M5, its motor, 3.0CHP, maximum speed (10MPH), Touch Button controls, remote controls, heart rate monitoring and control, and number of preset, customized, and heart rate programs are all like the M5.
Unlike the rest of the M Series which incline to 12%, however, the Triad inclines to only 10%.
The Triad running surface actually exceeds that of the M6 in length at 60", but unlike the M6, which has a conventional frame, the Ironman Triad is, like the T Series treadmills, a fold-away design.
Ironman models carry a warranty that covers for lifetime on the frame, 10-years on the motor, two-years on parts and one-year on labor.
Those who review treadmills generally rate them very good, see Consumer Reports review in January 2005 for a look at the M4.
